38th Anniversary of Super Bowl XV

The 1980 Oakland Raiders became the first team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a Wild Card when they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 25, 1981.

The Oakland Raiders began play in 1960 in the American Football League, which would later merge with the National Football League in 1970. The "Silver & Black" have played in five Super Bowls, winning three - Super Bowl XI (1976), Super Bowl XV (1980) and Super Bowl XVIII (1983). The franchise boasts 25 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame including iconic maverick owner Al Davis (1929-2011).
